Greg McDonough

Greg McDonough is a Fractional CFO and Growth Consultant at Crews & co. with more than 20 years of experience guiding organizations through financial complexity, operational change, and high-stakes transitions. Having owned and operated businesses himself, and navigated the full arc from growth to turnaround, Greg brings a perspective to his clients that goes well beyond the numbers. 

As a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, Greg has led companies through turnarounds, mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcy proceedings, and capital transactions. He works with businesses ranging from early-stage startups to $100 million enterprises, embedding directly with executive teams to provide clear financial reporting, actionable insight, and steady guidance through whatever challenges arise. His work spans financial oversight, forecasting, capital strategy, and process improvement, with a particular depth in stabilizing distressed businesses and building financial infrastructure from the ground up.

Greg is the author of The Turnaround (2017), a practical guide drawn from his firsthand experience navigating bankruptcy and rebuilding. He holds an M.S. in Finance from George Washington University and a B.S. in Finance and Economics from George Mason University. He also completed the Non-Profit Management Program at Georgetown University.
