Welcoming the New Year With the Best Business Blogs of 2021
Happy (almost) New Year!
2021 was an unusual year in some ways - year two of a global pandemic, for starters.
But in other ways, it has had a lot in common with most other years. There’s plenty to celebrate, plenty to learn from, and a few things we hope to never have to deal with again.
As you get ready to greet 2022, I encourage you to take a look at all of it - good, bad, and ugly.
First and foremost, ask yourself: What did your company do well that you now want to make sure you keep doing, and can ultimately make part of the company’s DNA?
It is human nature to think about what you could have done differently, and we will get to that next. But understand that the real path to growth is to figure out what IS working and just keep doing more of it, and then find more things that are working, etc. Rinse, repeat - you get the idea. Keep finding and building on those positive things!
And then there are the things that you did that either didn’t work, or didn’t work as well as you wanted them to. You want to reflect on those things as well - these are lessons that you want to be grateful for because you can now use these experiences to know what not to do in the future.
Believe it or not, these failures all very necessary steps towards where you want to be going (we call this iteration, and we are big believers in leveraging and learning from any mistakes or missteps that we make). So take the time to reflect on those mistakes - you have earned them, and they will help you if you allow them to.
Most importantly, as we take stock of what we care most about here at Crews Consulting - it is all of you - Owners, Presidents, Executives, Team Members and anyone who is involved with entrepreneurship in any way. You are our people, and as we take our own time to reflect on this year, we have so much to be grateful for. We have learned so much, and our business is having an amazing ride. But the best part is that we get to be on this ride with all of you.
And now it’s on to 2022 - and we are all going to nail it. Quoting my favorite movie (Miracle):“This is our time. Now go out there and take it.”
From all of us to all of you, we wish you all A Very, Very Happy New Year!
P.S. If you’ve got some downtime this week, catch up on some of the reading you may have missed over the past year. We’re building a content library we’re pretty proud of.
