About Us:
Crews & co. Finance Services is searching for a remote Director of Finance Operations. Crews & co. Finance Services helps small and medium sized businesses build great finance functions with fractional professionals who act as an extension of our client’s team. From bookkeepers to CFOs, our fractional support scales with our client’s needs. We provide fractional resources to build a finance team and offer strategic support to help businesses grow.
Overview of the Role:
Crews & co. Finance Services needs an experienced Director of Finance Operations to lead the overall finance and accounting team. We are targeting someone who has the desire, energy, and passion to develop, and implement the overall structure, process and practices to ensure the financial health of our company and clients. To do this successfully you should have in-depth knowledge of general accounting procedures, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and experience with risk management. More importantly, we are looking for a team member that can mentor/coach and provide oversight to other Finance team members.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Finance Operations would be responsible for:
- Management and oversight of finance services team members including new hire interviews and evaluation, performance reviews, and development
- Technical lead with accountability for the quality and accuracy of all finance services deliverables and reports
- Continuously evaluate the team members and determine if they are the right fit for the role
- Own the resource management of staffing and assigning team members to accounts
- Partner with sales to accurately scope the work and budget hours
- Own the gross profit and margin for finance services
- Partner/Collaborate with the Head of Client Operations to resolve any client or scope challenges
- Develop and maintain processes, reporting tools/templates, policies, procedures and compliance requirements for service delivery
- Develop and roll-out standardized reporting packages and financial tools
- Own the accountability that there is consistency in our service, deliverables, and overall client experience
- Audit and evaluate the accuracy of the financial information and guidance being delivered to the client
- Directly engage and support Crews clients in a Fractional support role (e.g., Fractional Controller) up to 20 hours per week if needed (minimum 45 hours per month).
- Project management and/or coordination of deliverables and team collaboration on new or existing clients as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Lead Finance position, managing a team of at least 5
- Proven experience as a Controller, finance officer or relevant role
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and client services skills
- Understand the commitment of the core values

- Proficient in Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Gravity Software, Appfolio, or other applicable accounting systems, and payroll software
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Docs/Sheets
- Proficient in payroll software
