How do you do it?

‍

That’s the question I get often from clients and partners.

‍

They aren’t asking about how I run two companies, how we landed on the Inc. 5000 list, or even how we help clients grow by increasing their revenue, profit, and valuation.

‍

They’re asking about slide decks.

‍

Something that should be simple turns out to be a major blocker.

‍

And it’s not just the slides themselves.

‍

If they can’t get the slides done, they can’t give talks or run webinars.

‍

If they can’t give talks, they can’t book speaking opportunities.

‍

If they can’t book speaking opportunities, they can’t build their credibility.

‍

If they can’t build their credibility, they can’t expand their audience.

‍

If they can’t expand their audience, they can’t grow their business.

‍

...you get the idea.

‍

***

‍

To be clear, it’s not that creating slide decks is actually simple.

‍

It’s simple for the right person, with the right skill set.

‍

And that person is probably not you.

‍

This is the classic “who not how” problem.

‍

You’re thinking, “How will I make a slide deck? What needs to go on the slides? How do I design them? What kind of talk or presentation should I even be giving?”

‍

You should be thinking: “Who can walk me through the right process to get this done?”

‍

Our company invested in a marketing and communications function from the beginning, probably before it financially made sense to do so.

‍

But I understood the value of marketing. More importantly, I understood my own limitations around it.

‍

I wasn’t going to plan and execute a strategy for webinars. But I could certainly deliver compelling content during webinars that would bring in new leads for the business.

‍

So the strategy, planning, and execution around those webinars needed support. I needed to find the right team to help me.

‍

Importantly: I never considered writing off the whole initiative because I couldn’t personally tackle a few pieces of it.

‍

Right now, there are fewer gatekeepers than ever for establishing your credibility and authority.

‍

You don’t need anyone’s permission to post to social media, start a newsletter, run a webinar, or even publish a book.

‍

What you need is the right people to support you: likely contractors or consultants who can take what’s complex for you and simplify it.

‍

Maybe 2026 is the year you stop making slide decks (or whatever the equivalent  is for you) an insurmountable obstacle.

‍

It does require thinking differently.

‍

But the barrier to entry isn’t as high as you think.
